A tradition 4,000 years in the making.

Homemade pickles have long been a cherished practice. Generations of women chose the finest ingredients, blended them with skill and waited patiently as the flavours matured, a ritual full of warm memories of tradition and care.

We grew up in a household where pickles were part of every meal. Our grandmother was famous for hers: she perfected Telangana and Andhra-style pickles, shaped by her childhood in Amalapuram and her later life in Hyderabad. No preservatives, no artificial colours, no chemicals.

From kitchen to doorstep

Three generations. One promise.

  1. 01

    Grandmother

Perfected the Andhra and Telangana recipes in Amalapuram and Hyderabad, and refused every shortcut.

  2. 02

    Mother-in-law

Received the recipes and mastered them with the same dedication, batch after batch.

  3. 03

    Prasanna

Inherited them not as a burden but as a promise: sesame oil, salt, no colours, no preservatives, no shortcuts.

“Why didn't we get our pickles?”

The 300-kilo moment

Every mango season, Prasanna made pickles for family and friends. When one season passed without them, the calls came. She started taking orders, and they added up to 300 kilos. People didn't just want the gift. They wanted to buy it, because they were hungry for food made with real care.

So The Pickle Story was born, to feed everyone the way Amma feeds her own children. Eight years later, from Hyderabad to 12 countries and more than 25,000 happy families, every batch is still made the same way.

Prasanna Lakshmi

“I'm Amma. A mother who refuses to compromise. And I make food the way I'd feed my own children.”

Whether it's for the hosteller missing home, parents who worry about what goes into their child's snacks, or elders searching for a taste they remember, The Pickle Story is for you. Prasanna makes 21 kinds of podis and 18 varieties of pickles, each best with steaming hot rice and a drizzle of ghee.

No artificial colours. No preservatives. No shortcuts. If that means smaller batches, so be it. Food made with care tastes different, and everyone deserves to taste the difference.
