Product information
Vadappalu are the quintessential Andhra crispy dal crackers, a beloved snack often prepared during festivals like Ugadi or for special family occasions. Each thin, round cracker offers a satisfying crispness, carrying the subtle, earthy flavour of dal perfectly seasoned with traditional spices. They evoke the warmth of a grandmother’s kitchen, a simple yet deeply comforting treat that brings everyone together for delightful tea-time moments.
Crafted with traditional methods passed down through generations, our Vadappalu are deep-fried in small, careful batches to ensure maximum crispness and freshness. We use only pure, refined sunflower oil, offering a much healthier alternative to many commercial snacks that use less desirable oils. You'll find no artificial preservatives or chemicals here. Each batch is made with love, following strict FSSAI approved and GMP certified guidelines for your family’s wholesome enjoyment. These crispy delights are a firm favourite, cherished by those who appreciate true homemade taste and natural ingredients. Over 25,000 customers across India and abroad have already discovered the authentic charm of our Vadappalu. It’s a snack that truly connects you to the rich culinary heritage of Andhra, bringing joy with every bite. Experience the tradition and flavour for yourself. Order now.

What goes in, and where it comes from
Every ingredient is sourced from the region that grows it best.
Rice Flour
Milled at Pickle Story Factory
We mill our own flour in-house using premium "Jaya" or "MTU 1010" rice varieties sourced from the Godavari belt. Milling it fresh at our factory ensures the flour retains its natural sweetness and has zero moisture, guaranteeing snacks like Chekkalu and Murukku are exceptionally crispy.
Green Chilli Paste
Guntur, Andhra Pradesh
We use fresh G4 chillies, ground into a paste. They provide a sharp, grassy heat that distributes evenly through doughs (like Chekkalu), unlike chopped chillies which can burn during frying.
Sesame
Warangal, Telangana
We use polished white sesame for snacks as they look attractive on darker fried items (like Chekkalu). They toast instantly when the dough hits the hot oil, adding a nutty pop.
Chenaga Pappu
Indore, Madhya Pradesh
Soaked and fried whole for mixtures. The "Desi" variety remains crunchy and nutty after deep frying, unlike larger dals which can turn mealy or floury inside.
Pesarapappu
Nizamabad, Telangana
Sourced from Telangana, moong dal adds a light, crunchy texture to mixtures and enhances nutritional value with its high protein content.
